Jewel's Got Reason to Smile

Unlike Gwen Stefani, who's currently sporting braces to correct an overbite, some stars have accepted those minor imperfections that distinguish them fromthe pack. Imagine Cindy Crawford without her mole, Madonna with out the gap inher front teeth? In fact, Jewel's famous crooked smile actually helped her score her first big-screen role. She plays the female lead role in the upcoming Ride With the Devil, a Civil War drama costarring Tobey Maguire and Skeet Ulrich. Thefilm's director, Ang Lee, told Glamour magazine, "She had a period upbringing anda period look. She's even got period teeth." Jewel graces the cover ofGlamour's December issue as one of their "Women of the Year," honored for her music achievements, as well as her work for the Higher Ground For Humanitycharity. Apparently Jewel's had even more reason to smile lately -- she's finally taking some long overdue time off with her boyfriend, Ty Murray.
